We made it to Virginia Beach on Saturday Night and the weather has been great. Spent alot of time at the ocean and at the pool. We have our neice with us to keep the kid company. They get along well.

The family is going on vacation starting tomorrow. This is a much needed break for the wife and I and kind of a last hurrah before school starts the following week. While I am super excited to get away, I am mega excited that 2 of my favorites are going to be in town. Here are a couple clips that are sure to be among the highlights of this time off. New Music Tuesday: Justpassingthru

This weeks Cross Driven Radio marks the first show in 2 months that I haven’t had an interview. As much as I like doing the interviews, they make it a little difficult to add new music. That changes this week!!

I love being a part of CRW’s Charts because it has introduced me to several fantastic artists, the most recent being Justpassingthru. Justpassingthru is from New Jersey and this band RAWKS!

I heard the first 30 seconds of the bands first single, Praise Adonai and I was instantly hooked. The band has a high energy sound all their own and features a clean guitar sound with a high energy rhythm section combined with clear and passionate vocals. Great things are in store for Justpassingthru. Here’s the video for their first single, Praise Adonai.

Weird Dreams…

It has been a weird couple of nights. I am not one to normally remember my dreams. I didn’t think that I had dreams until I had a sleep study done. Last night, I had one of the weirdest yet. I dreamed that I was somewhere noisy and was having a really good conversation with a member of a certain band. It was strange for me because I am not usually that social at that kind of event.

The other one was about running in a marathon. I am not a runner, except if someone is chasing me and valuable goods or bodily harm is imminent. I was running and was about the middle of the pack and felt things get bunched up. I woke up and my daughter had snuck into bed with us and I was teetering on the edge. I don’t know why it is bugging me so much recently, I just know I woke up super tired, and was cranky most of the day.

Its a Good Friday

It is a good Friday indeed. After upgrading to a new version of wordpress, I was no longer able to create a post like this on my lunch hour, which is when I write, or at least start most of my posts. The kind folks at wordpress came out with a patch upgrade and with the automatic upgrade program I was back at it in 5 minutes. How sweet is that?!?

I find that when I get in a real need for inspiration, I always go back to the Travel The Road podcasts. Tim and Will always remind me about what it is like to be totally sold out and living your life totally for Christ. Here is a little clip from the show. What are you thankful for, and where do you go when you need inspiration?

I’ve hit the Drive Time..

It is official. I have reached one of my biggest radio goals. Let me recap for you my goals as they pertain to radio:

Bring Christian Rock to the Washington DC area. Tiny check with an asterisk since I am not on terrestrial radio here, yet.
Contribute to a radio charting list. CHECK! I report my playlist to 2 charts at CRW, the biggest Christian Radio Magazine. It is awesome to be a part of helping new artists build their careers by playing their music and helping them get to number 1 on the charts.
Be on an FM station. CHECK! I have worked behind the scenes at this station which was fun, but I have been on Renegade Radio for a couple of months and have absolutely loved it!
Be on the air in prime time. CHECK! Starting this week, I will be on the air an hour earlier, starting at 5:00 Pacific time. This is going to be awesome! I get to speak to the weather profit about about the weekend weather. I promise not to do the cheesy 5:00 whistle and play this song.

So, what do I do now that I have reached another radio goal?

I give thanks to God for giving me these gifts and remember how it was less than 2 years ago that I was hardly able to have a decent speaking voice that is now stronger than ever.
Continue to do my best to follow the lead of the Holy Spirit as far as choosing playlists and what I say between songs
Continue to try and show other stations that Cross Driven Radio would be a great addition to their lineup

Maybe, I can take it one step further like Wolfman Jack did….. most likely not, because like Howard Stern says, I have the perfect face for radio… Yes, I’m goofy, but its 5:00 am and I can’t sleep…
