In Memory: Rev Karen Blomberg

I just found out that the Associate Pastor from my old church went to be home with The Lord yesterday.  I have always had great respect for her and she was always great to my family, especially my wife and daughter.  She died while on a vision quest in the mountains of California.  While I will miss her, I thank God that I had the opportunity to get to know and worship with her.

I am so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the peace He gives and knowing she is rejoicing with great company right now.

Hey Charley, I too knew Karen, and in fact she was the reason I stayed with your old Church. I seldom make it into Alexandria, but when I do I always hope to see Karen. She made a very important difference in my life, married my husband and me back in 1995, and remained a special friend to me through the years since. I regret not seeing her for several months, but I too feel comfort in knowing she’s up there saving a place for us.

Wow, it’s November and I JUST learned of Karen’s sudden death. I knew Karen at Taylor University. We were a musical duo, both playing James Taylor, finger style guitar as well as dueling banjos. She was such a good friend, so grounded and thoughtful. 30 years later I feel as if I’ve lost someone I’ve been connected to daily. Although I hadn’t seen Karen since her graduation from Taylor in 1976, we did make contact a few years ago and to my surprise we had both gone on to graduate studies and were both practicing therapists with very similar passions. A true soulmate whom I fully expect to be in my welcoming committee into the next life.
Love you, Karen. You are missed.

I miss my beloved partner so much that periodically I google her presence in the past. Sometimes I am honored to experience her in the present by a chill up my left forearm as if we were walking side by side on occasion brushing arms, in the midst of our animated conversation about spirituality, consciousness, choice and creativity. We continually explored how we might impact the world through our own personal and couples’ learning. We wrote, painted and taught what we learned. And all with humor and respect…what could be better. Although it has been over two years, I cannot imagine waking up without being able to reach her.
