Time to blog..

You may have noticed that I have slowed down with the blog activity lately. There are a couple of reasons for that. I have had this nasty cold /virus for almost a month now that has taken away most of my voice. I’ve been on antibiotics and now I’m on a steroid but nothing seems to really work.

I also have recently started reading this book about blogging and they recommend that you should not blog from work, especially on a work computer because there have been cases where people have been fired for blogging on their personal blogs during working hours, but using a work computer. Makes sense to me.. I also noticed that in our company handbook that we can’t have blogs that are conflicts of interest. I don’t agree with that but I will follow the rules.

That leaves me with an interesting predicament. You see, I used to do most of my blog posts on my lunch hour, or at least start them then. Now that I am in the new building at work, there is not a wifi connection that I can use to do my blogging in my usual time frame. I am going to try and start using the scheduled posting within wordpress and see how that works. regardless, I’m going to start doing more on this blog and my personal blog. When do you blog?

Good Guy Friday: Dave Jackson

When you first start out on your journey in blogging and/ or podcasting, you will find that most people that you come in contact with are friendly and are willing to help you out if you have any questions. Well. let me introduce you to Dave Jackson.

Dave is a producer of at least 5 podcasts, including The School Of Podcasting and The Musicians Cooler, an entrepreneur, a podcast consultant, a full time college student working on his second degree.

One of the benefits of subscribing to the School Of Podcasting, is a weekly roundtable where you skype in to a conference call and everyone helps each other with questions and sharing advice on all things blogging and podcasting. Last night, we were in the conference until after 11:00 as Dave was helping me figure out how to make a couple of tweaks to this blog.

So today I tip my stetson to Dave. Thanks Dave for your wealth of knowledge and your willingness to share it with anyone and everyone that needs it. You go above and beyond my friend!

Positive Post Tuesday: Believe Festival 2008

For today’s Positive Post Tuesday, I want to tell you a little story about some good friends from Alberta, Canada and tell you about their festival.  For those of you that may read this and don’t know, I am an Engineer by day and have a radio show a podcast, and this blog called Cross Driven Radio.  I have a passion for anything music, specifically Christian music, and using that passion to serve God.  I started promoting concerts a couple of years back, and at the urging of Nancy Tyler, I started going to GMA 3 years ago.   Read moreRead more

Ketchup or Catsup?

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6S9WhZ2tw9c]

I feel as though I am invariably running behind on keeping this blog updated.  My daughter came home from summer camp last week and told me the joke as told in the video above from Pulp Fiction.  I am still working on finalizing both P.D’s and Laura’s interviews from last week.  They should hopefully be online by Wednesday night.

The series of 40 Day Fast interviews have been really great, and have left me in a pretty tough predicament where it gets to be really hard to figure out what should go on the radio show, what should be for podcast, and trying to find music that somewhat ties into the theme of the interview.  I’m working in 2 interviews per week to get as many voices out there during this period of the 40 Day Fast.

On a totally unrelated point, when you go to the grocery store, when you look at the condiment aisle you are likely to see bottles labeled Ketchup and Catsup, which leads to this time tested question,  do you pronounce the condiment as Ketchup (Ketch-Up) or Catsup (Catch-Up)?
