Disciple has been around for 16 years and has won 2 Dove Awards, including Rock Album of the Year for Scars Remain. (I thought that After The World should have been song of the year).

The CD starts with the title track which displays the new 2 guitar sound with newcomers Andrew Welch (Capital Lights) and Micah Sannon (Falling Up), although Brad Noah’s influence can be heard with his trademark power riffs and leads.

This record is a bit of a departure from the earlier CD’s as it is not as the guitars are not as heavy. Kevin Young has become one of my favorite vocalists because when he sings on tracks like Right There and Savior he has such feeling and with such conviction that you can totally relate to him and the song, that is such a unique gift. Another thing that sets Disciple apart from the rest is the liner notes. As with their other CD’s, the liner notes have specific bible references for the inspiration of each song.

On the Scars Remain CD, Disciple gained a wider audience when ESPN picked up on Game ON as part of Sports Center and has also been featured on WWE Wrestling. That trend continues with the current single 321. They have also partnered with WWE and have their song In The Middle Of It on the new WWE music CD and is also the theme music for WWE Superstars Curt Hawkins and Zach Ryder.

The Current singles are 321 to Rock and Whatever Reason to CHR. I believe that there are some huge hits on this CD including Right There, and the blues tinged southern style rockin blues power ballad Lay My Burdens. Thanks for your Southern Hospitality!
